How old do I have to be to start classroom instruction?
You have to be 16 years old to start classroom instruction.  You do not need to have a permit, just proof of being 16.
Can I take the permit test at your school?
No, you have to go to the DMV - http://www.ct.gov/dmv
When can I start driving hours?
Once you have completed 10 class hours you can start scheduling your behind the wheel hours.
When can I take my driver's test?
Once you have completed 30 hours classroom, 8 hours behind the wheel and have had your permit for at least 120 days you are eligible to take your driver's test.
How long does the driver's test take?
When you take the driver's test at our office the whole process can take anywhere from one to four hours.
Can I go to both class times in one day?
You can only attend 2 hours of class a day.
Do I have to attend class consecutively?
No, we keep a schedule of all your class hours so you come in on a "drop-in" basis.  You can start at any time in the cycle of classes.  We also have a calendar showing class schedule which you can access on the website.  You cannot repeat classes.
Is the 8 Hour Drug and Alcohol course part of the full program?
Yes, but it is also offered as a separate course (see fees).
Do I have to take the 2 hour Parent class?
This class is only needed for students who obtain their permit after August 1, 2008. Both student and parent must attend the class together. This class is reflected as Lesson 1/2 on our calendar. Sign up in advance is needed.
